I · A message from our founder

I grew up not seeing myself.

Not in the campaigns. Not on the shop floor. Not in the sizing — which fit everyone, supposedly. The message was never said aloud, but it was consistent: beautiful lingerie was made for one kind of body, and if yours wasn't it, you could make do.

I was also watching an industry that had decided lingerie was for being looked at. Every image, every campaign, every window told women their bodies were something to display. Almost nothing told them their bodies were something to cherish.

I couldn't accept either idea. So I left a former life in finance and set out to build the alternative.

II · What women were never told

Most women do not know their size.

Not because they haven't paid attention — because no one ever told them. Sizing isn't consistent between brands. Fittings are rarely offered and more rarely explained. Bodies change through decades of life while the number stays the same out of habit.

An entire industry has quietly relied on women assuming the fault is theirs.

It isn't. The system was never built to inform you, and it has never had a reason to change.

That is the gap Olyinka was created to close.

III · Why fit is everything

Fit is not a detail. It is the whole idea.

A garment that truly fits changes how a woman stands, how she moves, how she sees herself in a mirror at the end of a long day. It is the difference between being dressed and being considered.

So we begin with knowledge. We help every woman understand her own measurements first — properly, without assumption — and then we build around them. Not a size pulled from a chart, but a body understood.

From there, a lingerie wardrobe becomes something deliberate: pieces chosen and made for the woman wearing them, not for the person imagining her.

IV · The craft

Made for one woman, and no one else.

Olyinka takes its design language from the 1920s to the 1950s, an era when what a woman wore beneath was made with the same care as everything above it. That sensibility runs through everything we make: patterns cut to an individual body, silks chosen for how they wear over years rather than seasons, finishing done by hand.

We are a small house by choice. Every piece is made to order, because a garment made for one woman cannot be made in advance.

V · Where we are going

Arriving informed, rather than uncertain.

Olyinka is building toward something simple and, in this industry, still radical: a place where women arrive knowing their own measurements, and where luxury means being known rather than being looked at.

We are growing deliberately — protecting the craft, deepening what we understand about how real bodies are shaped, and putting that knowledge back into the hands of the women it was always kept from.
